The Chain Sword is a stunning plant with a narrow leaved base and runners that are tipped with small green pods. This plant needs a sandy, nutrient rich substrate and lots of lighting to perform at it’s best.

With the right water conditions the Chain Sword’s runners will cover the tank bottom like a carpet. It’s an amphibious plant that can grow well either fully or partially submersed.

Baby plants will grow off of the runners on healthy Chain Sword plants. These can be separated when the baby is about half as big as the parent plant by cutting the roots apart.

Sometimes they will also produce seeds that can be used to grow new plants and you may occasionally see an adventitious plant that may be separated from the parent.
